Sofismo AG develops software products and systems. We use methodologies combining ideas from the field of product-line engineering (e.g.
FAST or
KOBRA)
with advanced domain-specific modelling (DSM). In all our
partnerships with customers we achieve astonishing
cost reductions
compared to traditional object-oriented development. Two aspects are unique:

- We do not use predefined modelling environments such as
UML or
BPML, but
we create a particular set of modelling languages for each software product line. This approach formalises the
product requirements by tapping into the business terminology of the domain experts. It also forms the base for
a shared understanding between the product management and the software-development team. As a result, communication
within teams and between business units is significantly improved.
- All implementation artefacts (code, documentation, configuration parameters, test scripts, etc.)
are assembled from a set of parameterised solution templates. These are implemented by hand with the technologies
currently used in a specific product line. Thus, we automate all repetitive activities and patterns.
